WILLIAMSBURG — ATT has teamed up with Williamsburg Every Second Friday to sponsor its May 13 after-hours gallery crawl — an evening where visitors join the galleries for opening receptions, artist discussions, performances and other events — and to launch the Learn to Collect project.

Through Learn to Collect, Williamsburg Every Second Friday and ATT are connecting New Yorkers from both sides of the river who are interested in collecting art and those who already do so. Gallery owners and artists are involved as well, interacting with prospective collectors to offer insights and suggestions towards beginning or continuing to collect art.

To kick off Learn to Collect, ATT is inviting Williamsburg Every Second Friday attendees on May 13 to “create their own collections� by photographing artwork with their smartphones and uploading it to the Williamsburg Every Second Friday Facebook page.

Williamsburg Every Second Friday is organized by Amy Kisch, founder and director of AKArts Marketing, and Marisa Sage, director and owner of Like the Spice Gallery, which will host a reception at 6 p.m. on May 13 to kick off the gallery crawl.

Gallery maps will be distributed by participating galleries, local businesses and nearby L-train stops.
Participating galleries include Art 101, Black White Gallery, Camel Art Space, Causey Contemporary, Figureworks, Front Room, Gitana Rosa Gallery, KK, Like the Spice Gallery, Parker’s Box, Pierogi and Ventana244, among others.
